What We Offer
Award Winning flexo printing plate supplier to the printed flexible packaging industry.
“JUST AN EXPLANATION:”
What is flexography? (“flexo”) Flexo is one of the 5 major printing processes. It was a relief printing plate (the images are raised – like a rubber stamp) for each colour used. The printing plate is made of light sensitive polymer. Flexo can use a wide range of inks, and is used to print onto plastics, foil, paper, cellophane and other substrates.
WHAT IS FLEXO REPRODUCTION?
Good reproduction in flexo is necessary because the elastomer/polymer used to print, the printing press, inks and substrates used, require the plate to be altered in an attempt to make the finished print appear the same as the original design.
WHAT IS A FLEXO PRINTING PLATE?
Raised Image supplies photopolymer printing plates, using a computer-to-plate imaging system. Negatives are no longer use for high-end work. A computer guided laser “etches” the image onto to the printing plate. These Images are hardened using ultra-violet exposure lamps. Thereafter the non-image areas are washed away using solvents or water.
